Attention Outdoor Geeks

I am in the final phases of planning the overnights hiking trip for August. I just need the final count of people so I can get permits. It will be the 13th to the 17th. And this is a hiking trip, not a car camping trip. I can give you some tips and advice on what to bring and what not to bring. Look forward to it.

Tip Numero Uno - Make sure you've got good, energy giving food that'll keep in your bag. Lor and I are going to try and bring enough for everyone, but you've got food preferences/allergies/mutation-related food weirdness/etc. you'll want to make sure you have your own stuff as well. And it's just a good idea to have your own food anyways.

But why would you want to sleep on the ground? I don't understand anything in this message.
