Rather than commenting on everyone's journal, I'll just issue a group thank you. I'm glad you lot liked the pies. But I said it when I first offered and I'll say it again, don't get used to it. Special occasions only.

Ali, the light show was gorgeous, of course. Better than I remember seeing at any of your concerts. (I did notice the missing piece but did you really think I was going to care? You might have to take it up with the other pie fiends around here, though.)

Jamie, great job, man and you play a mean game of baseball.

Am off now to get my sun time since events on Thursday prevented me. Will be down by the pool should anyone be looking for me.

Great job yourself. We're going to have to come up with more special occasions. :) And hey, what can I say, Little League is like riding a bike.

Definitely. Gandalf couldn't've done better.

Jamie, you aren't going to convince me that Arbor Day is a special event. Thanksgiving and Christmas, I'm willing to give in on.

My Bobby Sox team could have taken your Little League team any day.

Labor Day? Veteran's Day? Flag Day? Secretaries' Day?

Actually, I wouldn't be surprised if there was a Pie Day. I'll have to check. :)

And yeah, you probably could've, we were pretty horrible. But we had fun, and that's what counts.

No, no, no, no.

Not even for pie day.

My coach would be appalled to hear you say that. Winning is what counts! (My coach was a bit...intense.)

Ah, see, I was the coach's kid, so I got the "it's how you play the game" bit in the car on the way there, too. :)

And aww, come on, National Pie Day is December 2nd!

Our coach's kid was the pitcher and exactly like her father.

No.

I mostly played outfield (like you probably guessed from yesterday.) Sometimes played catcher, but I was always worried I'd catch a bat with my head.

Well, it's too early to start the real begging. But mark your calendar. :)

I was second or short (as per yesterday).

The answer then will still be no.

You're hiding pie with your mind again.

Am not. The situation is the same as before; baked goods are exceptional things and will never be the norm.

Well, those were some pretty exceptional baked goods, no argument there.

Flattery will get you a thank you and a grin but no further baked goods.

That's good enough for now. Particularly since there's still a couple of slices of leftovers left. :)

I can think of a special day/event coming up soon.
