Shopping!

Online shopping, sadly, not proper shopping. I've been getting things to decorate my office and I just . Because I'm nice, I also got gifts for people, (well and they offer a discount if you buy in bulk) so if a mysterious package arrives on your bed it's possibly from me. Check first to see if it's ticking.

I just finished hanging mine up. Here's a sneak preview. For my office I got these:
Goals
Individuality
Worth
Limitations
Pressure
Burnout
Compromise
Regret

Now, I know it seems like 8 is a lot of posters but I want to be sure that people who come in leave with the proper attitude.

I also picked up a couple for the staff lounge to reflect the general atmosphere of our jobs.
Get To Work
Sacrifice

The locker rooms are so dreary that I figured they could use a little color, so here are some appropriate thoughts for us there.
Loyalty
Teamwork
More on teamwork

I have a few more up here too that I just couldn't resist getting. If you're dying to have one, let me know.

Yeah, I don't think you can blame that on sunspots.

[identity profile] x-polarisstar.livejournal.com 2006-09-17 09:00 pm (UTC)(link)
Solar storms hurt more than anything and I can shield against them now. So neener.

There's not anything at all crazy about decorating.

[identity profile] x-legion.livejournal.com 2006-09-17 09:10 pm (UTC)(link)
I'd believe you more if I hadn't seen the way you are with catalogues.

Trust me. I'm qualified to diagnosis these things.

[identity profile] x-polarisstar.livejournal.com 2006-09-17 09:12 pm (UTC)(link)
On the theory that it takes one to know one?

And what do you mean the way I am with catalogues. I'm not any way with catalogues!

[identity profile] x-cable.livejournal.com 2006-09-17 09:16 pm (UTC)(link)
The lady doth protest too much. I've seen you with kitchen catalogues back when we were both teaching cooking classes.

[identity profile] x-polarisstar.livejournal.com 2006-09-17 09:21 pm (UTC)(link)
You know, Polonius was a fool and he was wrong.

[identity profile] x-cable.livejournal.com 2006-09-17 09:31 pm (UTC)(link)
"How now? A rat? Dead, for a ducat, dead!"

[identity profile] x-polarisstar.livejournal.com 2006-09-17 09:34 pm (UTC)(link)
Aw, now you've killed Polonius. Poor Polonius. It wasn't his fault that he got stuck in a tragedy.

[identity profile] x-legion.livejournal.com 2006-09-17 09:21 pm (UTC)(link)
My reasoning is valid and logical.

And uh huh. Sure. All that time you spend crouched over them with multicolored pens is just about drawing monocles and goatees on the models.

[identity profile] x-polarisstar.livejournal.com 2006-09-17 09:23 pm (UTC)(link)
I only do the goatees. You added monocles.

[identity profile] x-legion.livejournal.com 2006-09-17 09:24 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, yeah, okay.

It's a composition-thing. Really.

[identity profile] x-polarisstar.livejournal.com 2006-09-17 09:26 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh ho, see how he backpeddles all the sudden.

[identity profile] x-legion.livejournal.com 2006-09-17 09:31 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm an artist. I was expressing my creativity in a free and healthy manner. It's theraputic.

It just also happened to involve monocles.

[identity profile] x-polarisstar.livejournal.com 2006-09-17 09:33 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah huh, sure. It's all about your Art.

Why don't you teach art, speaking of...?

[identity profile] x-legion.livejournal.com 2006-09-17 09:40 pm (UTC)(link)
Um, let's just say there's a reason my job involved great amounts of listening and not a lot of instruction. And also I don't actually work here anymore.

You be nice to my art or I'll recreate and disseminate those photos Alison showed me of that thing you did when you two lived together.

[identity profile] x-polarisstar.livejournal.com 2006-09-17 09:42 pm (UTC)(link)
Slacker.

Whoa, whoa, back the trailer truck up here. There are no pictures of anything that I may or may not have...mostly not have...done. Alison has no proof of anything.

You're bluffing.

[identity profile] x-legion.livejournal.com 2006-09-17 09:51 pm (UTC)(link)

Hey, let's get this straight. I'm not a slacker, I'm a freeloader. The distinction is important.

Uh, I hate to break it to you, but there's proof.

Actually kind of a lot of proof.

Ask Jamie. I'm pretty sure he was in the CC.

[identity profile] x-polarisstar.livejournal.com 2006-09-17 09:54 pm (UTC)(link)
With best friends like you three, who needs supervillians?

You're a slacker and a freeloader.

[identity profile] x-legion.livejournal.com 2006-09-17 10:02 pm (UTC)(link)
It's true. It is within my capacity to be multiple things at once.

And it's okay, it's not like it's a conspiracy. I mean we're not, say, exchanging emails talking about you and your weird catalogue-habits behind your back as we speak or anything.

For example.

[identity profile] x-polarisstar.livejournal.com 2006-09-17 10:07 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh you three are so going to get it. So so much.

[identity profile] x-legion.livejournal.com 2006-09-17 10:19 pm (UTC)(link)

They're thousands of miles away, and even if the popular option of blunt-force trauma did manage to knock the images out of my head Alison's still got the digital files. And, apparently, the negatives.

[identity profile] x-polarisstar.livejournal.com 2006-09-17 10:20 pm (UTC)(link)
I have my ways of dealing with the former Miss Blaire, never you worry about that.

Oooh, blunt force trauma is so in season right now too!

[identity profile] x-legion.livejournal.com 2006-09-17 10:25 pm (UTC)(link)

Uh huh.

I wonder if Cain would like some interesting attachments.

[identity profile] x-polarisstar.livejournal.com 2006-09-17 10:26 pm (UTC)(link)
Are you very fond of that computer?

[identity profile] x-legion.livejournal.com 2006-09-17 10:30 pm (UTC)(link)
The Buddha teaches us not to be bound by the chains of material possessions.

So nice try.

[identity profile] x-polarisstar.livejournal.com 2006-09-17 10:32 pm (UTC)(link)
Right. That's the computer you have your thesis on, isn't it?

[identity profile] x-legion.livejournal.com 2006-09-17 10:42 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes. Yes, it is indeed the physical host of the thesis which I have committed to my eidetic telepath's memory of surpassing creepiness due to the possibility of hardware failure.

. . . Let's just go get ice cream or something.

[identity profile] x-polarisstar.livejournal.com 2006-09-17 10:46 pm (UTC)(link)
Frozen yogurt. You're on.
