Nathan is sleep walking. There are at least three of you wandering around for no doubt nefarious purposes. Someone had a midnight snack and didn't clean up well enough (if you're going to make a Dagwood in the middle of the night, you must put away the mayonnaise. This rule is for your own safety.) And me? I have a letter from Berkeley.

It's been sitting on my bed since the mail got here today. I just haven't opened it. And I can't sleep because it's on the bed and if I touch it I have to open it and if I open it then I'll have to live with what it says and if I do that then...

Well, then nothing I guess. Just that I have to live with it.

Lili, that traitorous mutt, is of course sleeping the sleep of the insanely adorable.

EDIT: Okay, I gave in and opened it. Oddly, I then fell right to sleep.

By the way, it looks like I'll be sticking around. Professor, can I have a job?

Go get some long-handled fireplace tongs, use them to move the letter to a chair or something, and go to bed, dip. You can decide what to do about them coming to you on their knees begging you to be part of their program when you're all rested up and stuff.

Sheesh, I swear, when the dog's the one with the most sense . . . ;)

Speaking as one of the folks that can get by with less than three hours sleep a night, you need to sleep sometime. Just open the darn letter and see what it says. Besides, some of us are curious.

I don't want your job. It involves too many finances. You're the one with the business mind.

We can probably work something out between you, me, Jamie and Rahne.

Failed what? You're doing a perfectly respectable job running the place.

Experience counts for a great deal, Dani. Don't underestimate yourself.

I was actually thinking running the business end of a small food service division. Doing secretarial work for the headmaster.

Or are you not actually earning your salary?
