Requests

In the Christmas spirit:

I have an astonishing collection of recipes, however I don't know what your favorite foods are. So comment here, let me know and I'll see if I can't manage to make it for you.

Christmas cake!

[identity profile] x-polarisstar.livejournal.com 2005-12-12 06:23 pm (UTC)(link)
You mean fruit cake or is this something Japanese I don't know about.

*googles* Hmm, either you're telling me I'm too old or you're looking for something like this?

[identity profile] x-sanfuaiyaa.livejournal.com 2005-12-12 06:27 pm (UTC)(link)
Fruit cake is the work of the Devil. Japanese Christmas cake is a light pastry covered in whipped cream and fresh strawberries. It's like heaven on a fork.

That's what I figured. Okay, that's simple enough.

Fruit cake can be very good, you just have to make it right.

oooh. you should make those things! the ones with the chocolate and hte nuts and the sugar!

I forgot the name...

[identity profile] x-polarisstar.livejournal.com 2005-12-12 07:16 pm (UTC)(link)
I think I know what you're talking about but come here so I can double check.

[identity profile] x-blink.livejournal.com 2005-12-12 07:55 pm (UTC)(link)

they're ball-shaped. spherical even, but not perfectly.

but they are like, pure sugar covered in chocolate and nuts.

Any chance of getting lamb? It's been ages since I had mechoui. Cornes de gazelle might be nice, too.

[identity profile] x-polarisstar.livejournal.com 2005-12-12 07:33 pm (UTC)(link)
I've...never tried that before. *cackles* Excellent.

[identity profile] x-emplate.livejournal.com 2005-12-12 08:19 pm (UTC)(link)
Blasphemy though it may be to suggest you would ever need help in the kitchen, give me a call if you have questions on either of those. I'm familiar with both, and I have a feeling most of the recipes you'll find on cornes de gazelle will be in French. Given I came here a bit late in the year, I don't have quite the workload the rest of this lot does -- I think I could spare some time for translation.

Lire en francais ne sera pas vraiment un problem, mais n'empeche que je peux utiliser ton assistance dans la cuisine si tu suit bien les ordres et ne brule pas les choses.

Eggnog. Not the alcoholic kind, either. My mother always makes it every year, and I miss it.

[identity profile] x-polarisstar.livejournal.com 2005-12-12 09:51 pm (UTC)(link)
Egg nog is easily done. Getting it to taste exactly right...we'll be taste testing, I'm sure.

[identity profile] x-havok.livejournal.com 2005-12-12 09:55 pm (UTC)(link)
Would it be horrible to ask for something simple, like Gingerbread?

[identity profile] x-polarisstar.livejournal.com 2005-12-12 10:05 pm (UTC)(link)
Of course not except that that's done.

[identity profile] x-havok.livejournal.com 2005-12-12 10:16 pm (UTC)(link)
Really? And you did it without me knowing? How did that happen?

[identity profile] x-polarisstar.livejournal.com 2005-12-12 10:17 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm sneaky like that. I think it was during the last time you got dogpiled and dragged out into the snow.

oooooh!! can we make a gingerbread house????

[identity profile] x-polarisstar.livejournal.com 2005-12-12 10:54 pm (UTC)(link)
I'll be Jamie would be really good at helping you do that. I am going to have a lot of cooking to do but I'll make sure you have enough gingerbread to to it with.

[identity profile] x-juggernaut.livejournal.com 2005-12-12 10:08 pm (UTC)(link)
Ham, goose, lamb, turkey. All the traditional stuff, I suppose.

[identity profile] x-wildchild.livejournal.com 2005-12-13 01:30 pm (UTC)(link)
VENISON!

What? I like venison.

[identity profile] x-polarisstar.livejournal.com 2005-12-13 04:40 pm (UTC)(link)
You and Rahne get me a deer and consider it done.
