(no subject)

Curses, missed a shot at getting someone else to do the grocery shopping. Stupid body and its stupid napping tendencies. (Incidently, how long am I going to be doing the sleeping every three hours thing, Doc? Amanda? I'm taking a random guess and saying it has to do with replacing energy, yeah?)

Right. So despite Em's trip to the market for essentials of foodage, I have discovered that I'm still woefully understocked on some of the stuff I use regularly. Man does not live on peanut butter and bread alone, at least not if I can help it. So, I will be taking a short trip following classes tomorrow, no more than a few hours tops and to boring places to boot (speciality food shops) but I'm going to offer to take along people anyway. I'm not, however, taking errand requests. You want something, come along.

I feel like I'm forgetting something...

Oh right.

Nice to be back among the living.

I could use the fresh air, I think. Possibly also some chocolate, and more coffee beans. Can never have too much chocolate and coffee.

And it's very, very nice to have you back amongst us as well, Lorna. The kitchen missed you at least as much as we all did.

Oh good, the first pack animal...I mean, shopping companion. Welcome aboard.

Thanks much, Shinobi.

You know, I think you're right. I was positive I heard it weep for joy when I got out the double boiler today. Poor thing felt neglected.

Madrox Twins Heavy Lifting, Inc. atcherservice, of course. :)

Glad you're out at last. Cooking spaghetti for dinner every night reminds me just how fabulous you are.

Will come along, cause it'd be good to see you.

Shopping?

[identity profile] x-tarot.livejournal.com 2004-02-05 03:07 pm (UTC)(link)
Shopping, even if it is food shopping is a joy and not to be missed.

Also, I seem to have run out of tea and hot chocolate. How I ran out of both without noticing remains to be seen, but, if I am welcome, I would like to come along.

I think you should make Manuel go, as he makes strangled noises whenever anyone says "grocery store"

We can take a van or something. I want to go too.

And now I have a "grocery song" in head, which makes use of those words a lot. Want me to teach it to you while we head over there? *beams*

Me there. Me so there.

I think _not_.

Don't we have servants for that sort of thing?

Shopping!

Yes, please.

[identity profile] x-tarot.livejournal.com 2004-02-05 06:32 pm (UTC)(link)
No.

Grocery shopping is fun. We'll get you cookies if you go.

Such a silly mood today, I am in.

With both Lorna and I along? Shopping indeed. >:D

Miles just ran off to teach it to Artie. Oh dear.

Extreme Shopping!

I think I saw that on late-night television. There were men in silly costumes and poles with foam things on the end for hitting with.

Oh dear. I suppose "Alison Blaire Sings Childrens' Songs" is a bad idea, right?

Lorna, this one comes shopping with us more often.

Mmm. I see we have a proper introduction to Extreme Shopping to do here. Oh yes...

*cackles*

Heh. Depends who you ask. Lorna's head me sing sailor type bar songs... ;)

*grin*

[identity profile] x-tarot.livejournal.com 2004-02-05 07:07 pm (UTC)(link)
No pole things for hitting with? I am not sure if I am disapointed or relieved.

[identity profile] x-dazzler.livejournal.com 2004-02-05 07:12 pm (UTC)(link)
No, see... the trick is getting other people to bring what you want to you, when shopping. ;)

[identity profile] x-tarot.livejournal.com 2004-02-05 07:17 pm (UTC)(link)
Is that that 'personal shopper' person that Ms. Frost was talking about?

That seems to take the fun out of it, though. You can't get inspired to buy cookies if someone is bringing you things.

Re: *grin*

[identity profile] x-dazzler.livejournal.com 2004-02-05 07:27 pm (UTC)(link)
Not quite.

It's about how to make someone want to find something you'll like, not because they'll make money out of it, but because they want to. On pure personality alone.

Re: *grin*

[identity profile] x-tarot.livejournal.com 2004-02-05 07:39 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh.

This is part of that "How Not To Eat Your Own Feet" seminar, only different, isn't it?

Re: Shopping?

[identity profile] x-empath.livejournal.com 2004-02-05 07:47 pm (UTC)(link)
We should just pay someone to do all of this for us. This way, we won't run out of things we need.

The first sign of a poorly-managed household is inadequate supplies.

Why waste the money getting someone to do it for us when we can go ourselves?

It is more fun that way, besides. How do you know if there are new flavours of crisps if you don't see them at the store?

Re: Shopping?

[identity profile] x-empath.livejournal.com 2004-02-05 08:03 pm (UTC)(link)
It is not my _job_ to know what flavours of crisps there are in the store. That's what domestics are for. Their job is to anticipate our needs and satisfy them before we're aware that they exist.

A good servant is a treasure.

*sigh* Save me from the middle class.

You are missing the point. It is more fun to go to the store, see that they have Guacamole Flavoured Doritos and decide that, yes, you might like to try those, just the once.

But, if you do not want to go, more cookies for me, then.

Re: Shopping?

[identity profile] x-dazzler.livejournal.com 2004-02-05 08:16 pm (UTC)(link)
Are they out yet!?!? I want to try those! :D

Re: *grin*

[identity profile] x-crowdofone.livejournal.com 2004-02-05 08:20 pm (UTC)(link)
There's some foam rubber in the basement, I could make you a pole to hit things with if you want. Might be fun. Especially if we run into any surly restockers.

Re: Shopping?

[identity profile] x-crowdofone.livejournal.com 2004-02-05 08:24 pm (UTC)(link)
Do they go with Mountain Dew, is the question. Because Doritos that don't go with Mountain Dew are abomination.
